Wolf Hunting Licenses Go on Sale Monday in Montana

After much debate and multiple trips to the courtroom, Montanans can officially purchase licenses to hunt wolves.

The tags go on sale Monday morning. According to a press release, you can purchase the licenses at any Fish, Wildlife and Parks office or on the department's website.

A license is $19 for Montana residents and $350 for out of state hunters. You also need a 2011 Conservation License which is eight dollars.

Commissioners approved a plan to hunt 220 gray wolves in the Treasure State. The season will begin on September 3.

Big game hunters can purchase surplus licenses for deer, elk and antelope in Region 4 starting Monday as well. Officials recommend buying the surplus licenses online when they go on sale starting at 5:30 am.
